Ronaldo, United left frustrated in San Siro
Manchester United dominated for long periods of their Champions League last 16 tie against Internazionale but were unable to breech the Italian’s defence.
United created multiple good opportunities in the first half and will be extremely disappointed not to have grabbed an important away goal.
A powerful header from Cristiano Ronaldo was brilliantly saved with just four minutes on the clock, before Ryan Giggs missed from close range when put clean through.
Ronaldo later hit the post with a long range free kick and saw two others saved by the Impressive Julio Cesar.
Ronaldo was becoming increasingly frustrated despite his great performance, as nothing would break his way. Julio Cesar seemed as though he was always in the right place and saved one Ronaldo drive with his face after being unsighted by his own wall. Inches were all that seperated Ronaldo from a potentially game winning goal, but it was not to be.
Inter did not show much offensively, and aside from a 15 minute spell after half time were chasing United shadows. Still, boss Jose Mourinho will be pleased with a result that leaves Milan needing just a score draw from Old Trafford in order to progress.
